Why wood he do it?

Thought Hugh Laurie was given up on TV series work, escpecially Americain. Thought he hated living in Californ. And now he is doing anothar show verr similar to House. Is this his typecasing, he no longar can get any othar work? What is this 180 reversal reason?

This show wouldn't require as much time as a network series did. He gets to play a juicy role and get paid. I'm sure that helped in his deciding.
