I am loving this show for all the San Francisco scenes and - living here - it pained me that Chance's secretary, Lucy, did not pronounce Vacaville correctly.
Vacaville - Vack-Uh-Ville, as in BACK-uh-ville, not Vock-uh-ville as in COCK-uh-ville.
Vaca ... means cow in Spanish. Voc-a-ville would be the Spanish pronounciation.
Getting all rigid about pronunciation is a bit silly. People say that no one says
Frisco, for San Francisco, and it is rare, but some people say it. People say odd
things or get odd pronunciations in their heads sometimes. Also, she is Asian so
maybe she is confused as to what is the correct pronunciation.
