D is awesome!
This 48 year old, ambidextrous male is really enjoying this show. The atmosphere alone is worth it. D is really something else, would love to have a friend like that!

shareyea i love the character, but I bet Blackstone just ends up abruptly killing his ass at some point leaving Chance all alone that would be shocking.

I hope not but you never know. Looks like D almost got Blackstone on this week's episode, otherwise I would most worry for Chance's daughter. Blackstone is just the kind of dirtbag to do something to threaten her is Chance doesn't take the hint. The more I learn about D the less I'm worried about him. But nothing is certain in a show like this. Which is good, keeps it interesting.
shareDidn't the daughter already get attacked on the street?
Fraaaank. FRANK! Get my jean bin. Susie wants my jeans.
No she doesnt.
Yes, but I'm thinking that was possibly a red herring. Blackstone didn't mention anything about it when he beat up Chance. Just like D said regarding how Blackstone didn?t mention anything about anyone working with Chance during that encounter meant he (Blackstone) probably didn't know about D, likewise his not mentioning anything about what happened to Chance's daughter is a good indicator Blackstone didn't have anything to do with that also. Just using a little "D logic".
shareI'm speculating that D is somehow in on all of this and is manipulating Chance. So when the daughter was attacked, i thought D was behind it for some (unknown yet) reason rather than Blackstone being behind it.

It's certainly possible, almost anything is in a show like this. And D is certainly a dark and mysterious character who's background is only now becoming visible? Or is it? The show reminds me of of some of David Lynch's work, especially Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive. Got to be prepared for anything.
shareI have exactly the same feeling.
shareYes, D is a spectacular character. At the same time a little bit of a cliché (the vet who can't fit in) and impressively original (he's pretty much as smart as the protagonist).
The odd and delightful pair these two make is the main attraction of the show (this plus the "film noir" vibe, the often brilliant dialogues and the weird psychiatric cases and Gretchen Mol), and why I think it's one of the strongest surprises of the year. I hope it'll stay this good till the season finale, unlike another show, Goliath, that was another solid surprise until the last two episodes...
