Is this a sequal to House?
Because it sounds like a sequal to House.
share"Chance" is not a sequel to "House."
shareThe big clue is that the main character's name is Dr. Chance and not Dr. House.

I feel like Hugh Laurie probably feels the same way too.
But a paycheck's a paycheck...
Do ya really think Hugh Laurie would have sunk his own money into it as executive producer if he "probably" felt he was remaking "House?" Do ya really?
Celebrities don't invest in series sure to cause viewers to be "Still Not Convinced." You're a hoot--a troll, absolutely, but a top-notch troll.
Thank you, I appreciate that. I may watch it because I really enjoyed him on House, but it definitely feels like they're retreading a bit.
shareThey are both shows about a doctor with a normal word for a last name which the show is named after, which is pretty unusual.
And Dr.Chance is timid and insecure, the opposite of House, but also intelligent and possibly has hallucinations !!
It's obviously a prequel, from before House got his leg injury. And he also has Benjamin Button disease, which explains why he is aging backwards, and his interest in rare diseases.

it's not a sequel but I like to pretend that it is. I mean house "killed" himself at the end of the series, it would make sense if he became a neural psychologist who lives on the west coast. Then again, I doubt he would be able to do any of those things considering he doesn't have a medical license anymore and would probably be in jail once they found him.
Also, house and chance are rather different characters. Chance feels more like Walter White then Dr House.
Besides having the same voice / accent the two could in fact be the same character. Though not intentionally.
In the Pilot, when Chance is recognised: 'yeah aren't you that doctor?' he almost defensively corrects this by saying he's a psychiatrist. He does so with a quick pace with a nervous flash of his eyes.
By the finale of House, the main character faked his own death to avoid jail and spend the last months of his best friend's life at his side. After the death of Wilson one can only assume House would become a fugitive, needing to change his name.. but still having medical training and loving puzzles. Perhaps after some emotional development mourning his best friend and in general, he was drawn to the 'puzzle' of human emotions.
(Eldon Chance and Doctor House, are phonetically similar; compare the way both characters introduces himself to new patients) more likely than not to be a false name assumed by the same character.
House loves the puzzle, the puzzle of human emotion always fascinated and frustrated him, moreso frustrated; but he was an addict and had limited patience with people or puzzles; or himself. After Wilson died, he could have gained insight on complex emotion from experience and been drawn to Psychiatry. He could very well be in this particular job (third party referrals) to remain partially detached from patients, but still get his 'puzzles'
Chance is divorced. House always had problems with his romantic relationships and intimacy, being emotionally closed off. Even though Wilson was dying, opening up to Wilson could have been a defensive move knowing that was coming.
House loved to teach and correct people. He always struck me as someone having a desire to be a father / teacher. Chance is a father.
House was a rebel without a cause. Chance is an anti hero with a cause.
