It was clear from early on that Jacquelyn was manipulative. So, what did you think about the ending? Is Chance gonna visit Detective Hines with D or just gonna try and live a normal life?

She wasn't as manipulative as I thought. She really was a psych case and the wild lilac brought out her experience. I thought she might have made up the dual personalities. Her husband covered for her. Looks like every character killed somebody.
Actually, it was a let down.Something missed. It looked like they were trying to end the story so they could go on to Season 2 with Carl and D. And no more or very little of Jaclyn on the horizon. Looks like his obsession ended and Chance will just have a lot of problems with the detective and police dept. It really doesn't matter what he does with Jaclyn's confession - for us at least.

I looked up your link and responded. And I love your ideas, but according to Gretchen Mol, Jaclyn is done. And Hugh Laurie isn't sure there really is a S2 or what it would look like. But if Jaclyn is gone going forward, they would have to start with a different case with different people. They would obviously keep D and Carl and probably bring back Greta Lee who is a fan favorite and some more great shots of San Francisco which was one of my favorite things about the show other than D.

Loved the show all the way to the end. Some may be let down that they didn't tie all the loose ends, but I actually liked that because it's more realistic. In real life few things end neatly and completely. Overall the series was a real surprise, D being IMO more complex than Chance. And all the characters believable and fairly unique. One thing I know, if I ever go on an opp where I might have to kill someone, I'll be playing A Tribe Called Red on the way. Hope they do another season.

Firstly, the end is not exactly the same as in the book ; but in the book, Eldon Chance stays a bit away from D and Carl for some times after his recovery... But a new patient with "problems" shows up (she has a problem with the mexican cartel if I remember well, then he calls D and tell him there is a woman they should talk about.
By the way, I don't know if Kem Nunn has any project of writing a second book about Chance and D.
The finale was a complete let down.

shareOne thing i gathered from the finale and the final scene is Chance's ability to better handle danger and stress. when the show started, having a private detective and other forces after him would have totally freaked him out. but after all he's been through and knowing he has a friend in D, he was able to speak almost matter of factly of his problems and dig into the bag with burgers and fries and let those problems slide to the back burner. so we see a person in transition (no kidding: he'd killed someone!).
