Could 'D' be one of Chance's split personalities?

Not sure why, but I'm thinking there's going to be some sort of mind-screw twist. Here's my guess as to what it could be:

Chance has multiple personalities, and 'D' and possibly Jaclyn are those personalities manifested.

I had a buddy suggest it recently so I haven't been able to watch closely to dispute it. And something about it rang strangely true for some reason. The whole thing about D not being able to drive (hmmm?) and Jaclyn's whole weird situation in general.

I'm sure I'm probably wrong but wanted to see what people think the big twisty-twist could wind up being.

I thought the same thing. Is D really real? Does D stand for something, like death? Sometimes D reminds me of a character in S1 of True Detective.

There is definitely going to be some kind of a twist at the end and especially a mind-screw one. I don't know how close they will stick with Vertigo plot, but the dear doctor is definitely sipiraling out of control. And the story for S1 will change if they want a Season Two.

yes, d definitely stands for something. we'll find out soon.

Some of the events that have occurred so far seem very odd and off to me -- not impossible, just improbable -- and then it occurred to me that everything we (the audience) see is filtered through Dr. Chance. If he is not somehow involved in an event -- he witnesses something, somebody tells him something -- we don't see it.

I am going to be away from Hulu for a while and this show is the one thing that I will miss.

Yeah but the guy that owned the antique furniture store is the one that introduced them, right? I can't remember if the owner of the store was ever in the same room with Chance and D...

YEs, he has been. He introdicued them, and then he has also been in the workshop when Dr. Chance has been over to talk to D.

i'd bet not that's fast becoming a cliche in TV and movies and it's one that can't be used as much as most lol

plus multiple people have acknowledged D's presence. I guess they could pull some switcheroo and say a scene played out how Chance wanted to see it and the characters were really just talking to Chance, but that'd be kind of dumb.

Plot hole - Aspect of a film that is misunderstood or missed while using your smart phone.

I believe you are correct sir, the only way they could pull it off is to rip off FIGHT CLUB 110% and say he was the only one in all the scenes. *beep* that, I'm sure it's gonna be a mind *beep* but not that.

I need to think about this theory some more, but I think you might be on to something.

I always assumed D was real. He reminds me of the tough guy in Gone Baby Gone who goes with Casey Affleck's character to a crackhouse.

Interesting idea
but ultimately no, D was introduced to Chance through another character (Carl) who we assume to be real since there are characters who have interacted with both Chance and Carl; ie: Lucy who delivered messages to chance from Carl. The cheque from Carl, and the money from Carl after the cheque was cancelled. (for the brass antique which was sold to the russian dude off camera) the fraudulence of the antique / metal brass work was done by none other than D

D is real.
