Extremely forgettable movie?

I completely forgot this existed until I came across it online by chance. And even though I watched it on release I can barely remember a thing about it except a sexy lady wearing a top hat. Having said that I do remember it was a quality movie. But it certainly lacks that memorability factor.

I can't even be certain whether I saw it. I don't think I did (I'm not a fan of The Shining), but I'd have to check.

Edit: I haven't rated it on IMDb so I'm guessing 'no'.

It's worth checking out. I liked it quite a bit and have been meaning to rewatch it at some point.

Directed by Mike Flanagan (this is the best movie he's made so far), starring Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson (who was awesome as 'Rose the Hat').

Rose The Hat was the only interesting thing about it.

True.

It was decent until the final act in the hotel - terrible recreation of the Overlook with Elliot from E.T. playing an unconvincing Jack and way too many cringe fan-service callbacks, including all your favourite ghosts! πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ (except the best one - Blowbear πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ)

I was disappointed in it cause the original trailer had the main character mentoring several kids with Shining powers and implied they were all going with him to the Overlook motel.

I have it on DVD and I keep forgetting to watch it - does that count?

reply

That counts! LOL
