Why couldn't Danny and Abra just shoot Rose?
Or, you know, steer her car into a tree (or down a cliff off the mountain road)? Presumably the book gives some explanation but it was frustrating in the film not to have our heroes first try what worked so well against Rose's followers. If they'd tried those direct means and failed because of Rose's newly juiced super-hippie powers then fair enough. As it was, however, Danny & Abra look stupid, and Rose's extra powers never come into focus.
Overall too in the film Abra seems very powerful until she doesn't. E.g., at The Overlook she's almost a bystander. Does the book keep faith with its characters better than the film does?
