So many gay guys

Joel is far more squeamish than Sheila and even Abby at times. He constantly does his nails, primps, and preens, and has many lines (and plot threads) undermining his masculinity. It's not that he's incapable of manliness, but this guy is a metrosexual for sure.

Eric is a nerd with almost no traditional masculine qualities or interests. He fails at throwing a ball to himself at one point.

Rick deeply cares about his herb garden and constantly is going to things like sensitivity training. He is in law enforcement, but just to ride a horse.

Ron's mannerisms aren't terribly butch... Also, "I'm neat and petite."

Loki, Paul, and Chris also display some feminine traits as well.

Now, none of these guys are canonically gay on the show. Many of them are/were married. But they are still pretty feminine.

I think it's also notable that feminine or at least non-masculine guys tend to be portrayed on the show as nicer or more morally good while the bad guys retain most of the manly men (Dan and Gary, for instance). Contrariwise, it portrays masculine traits in women in more positive characters (Abby can be tomboyish, Winter certainly has masculine traits, and Cora Wolf is cold and scientific).

I'm a huge fan of the show, I don't think this is "bad", but I think the show has this as an ongoing thing for whatever reason.

You're right not all feminine men are gay, however most of the noticeably feminine ones are. But sure I could have phrased that differently. What I meant was that they are feminine and/or gay.

Nothing wrong with either being gay or feminine, but the percentage here seems to be way higher than in most places in real life. So I'm curious if Santa Clarita is some gay haven in real life or if its just being forced by the show.
