The score alone and its placement scream Dexter.

This show came about because of Dexter.

The only thing similar to Dexter this show has is Dexter's final season; which was one of the worst seasons ever witnessed on TV. Please do not stare this has any similarity with the excellence of Dexter's first 4 seasons which were superb.

I actually thought about Dexter as well. Not as dark and dramatic, but if Tim Burton made an episode of Dexter, I think it would look like this. The music has me thinking Edward Scissorhands.
