Just saw it.... Some spoilers...

Definitely not as good as Pan's Labyrinth, but still wonderfully directed. Though I agree it is kind of weird this won Best Picture. I think Dunkirk and Three Billboard be more proper to top this. Amazing score and I actually cared for the characters. Sally Hawkins was amazing at the mute/sign language character. The least interesting one was Richard Jenkins as Giles. I would have replaced him with Michael Shannon. Although Octavia Spencer as Zelda doesn't have as much screentime, her performance as always as a supporting actress is impressive. My favorite scene with here was at the end when Michael Shannon interrogates her and her husband spills the guts. As for the concept itself, I agree it was weird, but a mostly satisfactory one. Still I have heard people complaining so much that this movie rips a million things off. I can definitely say that this ripped off Splash. Very same ending in both movies.
