When your life is on the line, do you trust a 5 yr old to keep a secret?

Why do you even allow the kid to meet a friend you don't want her daddy to find out about?

Because Catherine did not graduate from MIT. Take her for what she is. A piece of pretty ass.

Hindsight is 20/20, but yeah she and the cops should have been more careful, i.e. no letting the kid know they're cops or sit it what she knows is a police car, and have a cover story for why cops are talking to Catherine that she mentions to Baz and maybe Pope, such as investigation into drug dealing in & around her bar, a person of interest who is a frequent customer, etc.
