I've watched all of the 4 shows so far and was taken aback when I saw the Daren character having a gay side.. How did the 2 guys meet? Isn't that relevant to the story? We are watching one of the most dysfunctional family, everybody is beating someone else, and out of nowhere, one of them is having a gay affair? Someone here said that Pope was sent by Daren to beat up this guy on the boat, who turned out to be 'competition' for the affections of his 'lover'. If that be true, then Pope and the family must know about this side of Daren and condone it.

I don't know when they met but I know they spent time together in Belize.

Daren is in love with Adrian. He is gay and jealous and sad.

I don't think Pope knows.
He told the guy. I don't know why I am doing this.

In one of the early episodes, J catches Deran and Adrian in the beach restroom together. Deran freaks and starts beating Adrian, encouraging J to help in.

Deran than goes to pick up rent from Adrian at a surf shop, which means he rents a building from Smurf.

One would guess that Deran and Adrian probably met surfing.

and in the next episode J tells Deran something along the lines of I don't care about what happened in the bathroom. That's why Deran tried to drown him that episode.

They probably all know - just won't admit it to him or each other. I bet Pope knows - he was insinuating as much when he told the guy Deran didn't come home the night before.

Smurf made out with her as a manipulative means to an end, to get the info she needed. Deran is in love with the guy and afraid to admit it. Pope doesn't question why the guy needed to be taken care of, he did it for family

Exactly. I don't get this logic from people. What makes them think Smurf would disown him for being gay? Deran is basically her favorite son anyways, I highly doubt that would happen.

He did not send Pope after the new lover; Pope did that on his own to make a point.

Who sneaks into his lover's apartment, with a tire iron in hand? If Deran had caught Adrian and Dave in bed (instead of Adrian just playing a video game on his computer), Deran would've gone homicidal! Heads would've been dented! Adrian needs to stay away from that psycho, cause nothing says "passion" like taking a tire iron to one's lover's house! LMAO!!!

Deran he kisses Adrian is bascally saying no i don't feel the same way about you but then Deran leaves crying you see what looks like Adrain crying going in to his house, so really Adrain doesn't care about Deran i don't think we have seen the last of Adrian. But is Deran going to be upset with being Rejected by Adrain going to affected the jobs he goes on?

adrian was just feed up with deran trying to hide there relation. both love each other still. now that craig approves, deran will gain more confidence and maybe tell the rest of the family. including smurf

To the OP families are NOT STUPID families tend to know which members are gay and straight. Craig an older brother of Deran clearly knows about Deran and Adrian and he is cool with it. In fact, Craig thinks Adrian is a nice guy and good for Deran.

Daren ask to pope to beat the guy without any explanations in exchange of return to the family. Pope agreed. Is like the scene in the The Town when Ben Affleck says to Jeremy Renner: I need your help. I can't tell you what it is, you can never ask me about it later, and we're gonna hurt some
Pope agrees to achieves something that Baz couldn't.
I don't think that the family suspects; deran has sex with woman in front of them, and he said to Adrian that he is the only guy he has sex with. So, It seems( I could be wrong) that he is his first homosexual relationship.
My only doubt is that when Pope was looking for Deran went to Adrian, so he could suspect something.

In the 7/19/16 ep, Craig admitted during the party he knew about Deran and Adrian's relationship. Then Deran exhaled, "Damn, does everybody know?" Craig said "no." I really don't think anyone in THAT family would care, just as long as Deran continued to do his share of heists.

I just can't see how Adrian can go back to a person that kicks the *beep* out of him (whatever the reason) and then basically tries to kill Adrian's other lover. Like, how desperate can you get? I get the bad boy draw, but you gotta have no self respect for yourself to allow someone to put their hands on you and than *beep* you- Sorry, not sorry. Time will tell if Adrian caves in again, which I think he will, he seems pretty weak. LOL

I think at this point, Adrian would be safer (Literally) going with Dave. Deran has jealousy issues, bordering on psycho. (Look how he tried to drown J, cause J is the new object of Mama Smurf's affections).

Just the fact Deran brought a TIRE IRON to Adrian's apartment (to dent some heads in the event he caught Adrian in bed with Dave), should've been a CNN news flash to break up with dude once and for all! I mean, Adrian had already been previously stomped by D and J in the beach bathroom!

People stay in physically and psychologically abusive relationships all the time. Battered wives get saved by cops and taken to emergency rooms just to refuse to cooperate with prosecution. Sad but it happens.

Yeah, you;re right. Happens in gay relationships as well. There might just be a teeny weeny excitement Adrian feels in riling up his man to the point of violence towards HIM, but not Dave, since he is considered innocent in this love triangle. I just wish Adrian would fight back a little when Deran goes "off the rails" on him. He is truly the "bottom" in this relationship.
