ending was amazing

J has been the only decent character on the show. To see that he's going over to the dark side was creepy.

Nice that it wasn't over the top but very subtle. Perfect ending to an amazing first season.

I think Joshua is the darkest of all the Cody's

reply

He hasn't really shown his cards yet, so we aren't really sure what he is and isn't capable of.. He's always living in his own head, which can be dangerous..

reply

Plus, I think the actor who plays J is only 20, so he'll look a little more grown up when we see them again...a bit more mature, and possibly scarier! LOL ;-)

reply

I think that he still is decent, but dark and more intelligent than any of them. what nhe did to the cop was revenge! What he did to Alexa was revenge for used him.
And, now he is going against the Codys. That look said all, he with the gun. Looking them from a distance What he said to the female detective, that remember her and what he did to his mother, in a way, also explains the ending. He won't forget what the Codys did to julia. He doesn't forget his mother, he hanging the picture of the two of them together also was to explain that.
So, my bet is that the rest if the show will be he personally taking care of destroying them. The only exception might be Pope, but the rest is screw.

reply

If have a feeling josh will get his revenge eventually since I think right now his planning his next move and probably revenge against what happened to his mother.

reply

I just rewatched the scene and when J is looking at the window there is a target in the garden where the rest of the family is. I have no doubt that J is just planning how is going to avenge his mother. I think that the show is going to be about Josh taking one by one, again, with, maybe Pope's exception. He knows that Pope was the only one that care about Julia, althought it could change when he finds out the story of Julia being kick out.
For the time being, he is the only one that seems capable of play Smurf. She saying about sending pope or baz to kill him was a mistake, he knows that he couldnt never trust them. And we know he is capable of some dark s..t
More I rewatch, more I like J. I like complex characters.

reply

Yea I agree. Although, his face looked like not only was he going to "destroy" his family but ANYONE who crosses him or the ones he can't trust anymore. Idk but I think whatever he's gonna to do, Nicky might be involved in that list too after what she did and what's she doing now to him.

reply

About Nicky, I think that in J's cold point of view he already tried to save her and she dragged herself in an even worst situation. I wouldn't be surprised if she ends like the girlfriend character in the movie. Nicky is way too stupid and I think that, like you said, J won't stop from anyone that be in his way.

I loved his big *beep* you to the sad excuse for a detective. Got what she deserved.

reply

Man, do I hate that detective!!!

^^^This! I hate the over the top bossy/manipulative attitude of the woman cop. Sooo glad he played her as s.

reply

J realized that the family would harm him if he went against them.

reply

When J had the gun in his hand and was looking at Craig and Nicky through the window I totally thought J was gonna put the gun to his own head and pull the trigger. Looked like he was thinking what a f-ed up family this is.

reply

It was definitely a wink to the original movie...

SPOILERS!!!! Do not read on if you haven't seen the movie! You have been warned!!!!

in the movie, Jay briefly considers turning on the family (after he figures out that Nicky was killed by Pope) goes to a safe house that the cops set him up in, but then escapes and goes back to the house after clearing Smurf and Pope on any involvement in criminal activities. Just so he has a clear shot at the people who destroyed his life. He then proceeds to shoot Pope in the head.

In the TV show, Jay has obviously figured out that these people are poison... but he has nobody else. And he's gonna get what he needs and look out from himself from this point on.... with a gun in his hand.

Looking forwards to series 2.

reply

@surferlover I actually thought he was going to walk out there and shoot Nicky in the face. In that moment I wouldn't have put anything past him.

reply

Oh yea!

When I saw the camera moving without revealing the person (before it was Smurf they were looking at), I thought it was J who was heading towards Nicky and Craig.

J will try to take the finally down from the inside but I think he won't come out unscratched of this mess. How bad he will become before this is all over is the main question of this show.

reply

I think it will go opposite, I think he will be loyal to them.

reply

Agree. He will take the, down, but he it will come with a cost.
