What the hell was the point of killing that old guy? Car restorer guy.

My understanding was that in his youth, he and Smurfs mom were screwups involved in petty crime. In robbery, she ended up dead but he didn't kill her.

What exactly is the revenge here?

I think Smurf holds a grudge for one of two reasons, more likely a combination of both:

One, she blames him for getting her mother involved in that life and putting her in a position to get killed in the first place.

Two, he was her father figure, and he just abandoned her. Just left her there with no one.

Along with the reasons that "raging_hobo" already posted, I had the feeling he sexually abused Smurf too. We'll see if this is ever revealed.
