Execution all wrong

Whilst the noose was correct as opposed to the 'wild west' noose, the executioner, Albert Pierrepoint, would NEVER have asked if the prisoner had "any last words?" before putting the cap over his face. He'd have quickly dispatched the prisoner with no fanfare.

reply

Agree !! Pierrepoint was very efficient in the way he dispatched his client and the time it took to do it and never asked for any last words, which would be a pointless thing to do and slow up the process.

Politicians are like Nappies. They should both be changed frequently
and for the same reason."

reply

The original 10 Rillington Place film was very accurate with the execution. Mainly in part that Albert Pierrepoint gave his expert advice.

reply

"Execution all wrong"
"Whilst the noose was correct"

reply

Christie wouldn't have been sitting with a priest, either.

reply

Is there any evidence that Christie was a Roman Catholic? If not, why would he be talking to what is obviously an RC priest?
This struck me as another bit of nonsense from writers who have watched too many Jimmy Cagney movies and who don't realise that the official religion of England is Anglicanism, not Roman Catholicism.
