Does anyone know if/when it will be released to Region 1?

Yes, but I'm really interested in owning a DVD copy.
It doesn't look good. Amazon.ca is only selling region 2 even though Canada is region 1. The only other suggestion would be to buy a region-free DVD player. I bought one to watch region 2 DVD's and they work fine.
