The Fire scene at King Hill's ranch

I didn't really understand what was happening there. Looked like some controlled fires on the farm crops? And someone made a comment about fire insurance. While scenes of Molly getting more sick as the fire and smoke billowed. This whole fire thing went over my head, what was the point of that scene?

To give Burkhart a glimpse of where he knows he's going for sure, as he looks through the window, sitting on the bed of the dying wife he's poisoned and whose whole family he killed: Hell.

reply

You're talking metaphorically. But there's has to be a reason for the fires. I didn't get it either, OP.

reply

Reason for the fires was to collect insurance money because Hale was denied from Henry's life insurance money. Hale said something like "you will regret this" to the insurance guy and the fires was started intentionally as a revenge to collect fire insurance money instead.

Yes, thats what I also assume. They mention he just signed one month ago a fire insurance, implying he not just does life insurance scams, but any sort of. Hale thought he can get away with everything. And until he overdone it with the murderers, it worked well for him.
