but how do these people have land? Didn't Jefferson buy all that land from the French? We have every right to kick them off it. If they illegally squat and do not want to be charged with trespassing, THEY should be PAYING back taxes and fines, not RECEIVING government taxes and land.
Well, that's a broad topic.
While this case is crystal clear (the Osage were robbed and murdered).
Other cases aren't that clear.
I don't just mean Native Americans, but also the distribution of land in Europe after so many wars. If you want peace, you cannot go back to the times of Adam and Eve.
And I say that with a little tear in my eye.
Friendly greetings from Germany!
In a nutshell, they HAD land in the fertile part of the Midwest, and the US Government kicked them off of it and took the land for white Americans. In exchange, we gave them some dusty acreage in Oklahoma, where we hoped they'd quietly starve to death, but they managed to avoid starving until oil was discovered there and everyone in the tribe shared the oil money among themselves, and the local white folks did their best to steal it.
Which was deeply ironic, but even more ironic is that the white people invented the term "Indian Giver", to describe someone who gives something and tries to take it back.
Did you not understand that land was bought from France? How fucking stupid are you? No one wants to hear the double digit IQ take. The land is Americas. Not those tree people. They lost it all to France who sold it to the U.S. They have no claim to it. Their stupid idea of it being theirs, is like current Italians laying claim to London because Romans made it.
And now we desperately try to find our 'barbaric' roots again after destroying almost the entire world (overpopulation, pollution).
Europeans together with all 'civilized' people, of course.
"Stronger civilization's move into others that are failing."
why cant they be happy with what they got?
cos population growth? or whatever ?
then what happens when theres no more savages to steal land off?
The right of conquest and exploration. No one had to give it to them. It was wilderness. If there are a thousand people in America first, they dont OWN the whole damn continent, especially when it's completely undeveloped. That's how all normal societies collapse. Over expansion without being able to protect it all.
In the Injuns case, not only did they not lay proper claim to any land, they did nothing with it. They lived like animals. Following food, harvesting unfarmed crops, dying to harsh weather because of zero prep, and killing each other to fight over resources that were used in an economy that was created by newly invested Europeans that actually built things greater than a tent or an animal hide to fill with blood. Of course, regular people are ignorant to the actual history and rely on these stupid movies for "insight" on how times were, but those movies are completely devoid of reality. Anyone who looks up an tribes wiki and it's nothing but fighting and slaugthering each other to control a resource to sell for weapons and alcohol. They did it with zero misgivings.
Okay public school graduate. The land the originally were on was not solely contained in the land purchase from France... Then again even if it were, the land purchased from France was not Frances to sell in the first place. Unless you have full control of a piece of land you can't say that it is Frances or Spains or anyone else simply because you landed a ship on a small sliver of it. It makes as much sense a someone sticking a flag on the beach of Florida and then claiming they own the entire country.
But beyond that, the land in the movie was originally given to the Cherokees when the US forced them off their land in norther Georgia and the Carolinas even though it was in violation of a Supreme Court decision in favor of the Indians. So who would have thought a President would ignore law and just do as they saw fit? But that land was provided to the Cherokees, who then gave it to the US government in exchange for a different chunk of land that they viewed as being worth more because what they gave up was shitty land with little water or anything else of value... Which is why the US government then gave it to the Osage when they removed them from their land in more preferable areas in the Ohio Valley.... With the irony being that the land was worth much more than anyone thought when oil was discovered.... much like some Navaho land that was considered worthless and given to Indians turned out to have uranium deposits on it.
If you want to go down illegally squatting that is what the white did from the start so I'm waiting to see you hand over everything you have in the US and board a flight back to Euro-land.
Wow the land wasn't worthless? Imagine if the people on it actually the tech, and brain capacity to use it for modern tech. They wouldn't be so reliant on government handouts to feed their alcohol addiction and victim complex. Whoops. What a boner.

Please, please, please let JFZ stay in the USA. 🙏 🙏 🙏
René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle, explored the Mississippi River Valley in the late 17th century. In 1682, he claimed the entire Mississippi River basin for France and named it "La Louisiane" in honor of King Louis XIV.
Or you have to keep asking who did it belong to? And then did they defend and protect it? And whoops. Oh no, I seemed to forget a shit ton of history in between. America is NOT culpable for the Injun issue. They are. White guilt is over. It's as dead as the Redskins football team.
The Osage people in Oklahoma had title to the land they paid for. Like anyone else, they owned the land. Unlike some others, they retained the mineral rights which made them wealthy after oil was discovered. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osage_County,_Oklahoma
Why is this a problem for you?
Why do you think they did not pay the required taxes? Exactly what taxes did the Osage evade?
