Matt, Matt, Matt. What have you gotten yourself into? You finished a
very funny and original series ("Episodes") for Showtime, and now this?
This is way beneath you.

The idea for this show is tired and old. Men who cannot or will not do
something for their kids and/or family is out and not funny anymore.
Take a look around: men are part of their children's lives more than
ever.

My prediction: canceled before finishing the first season. How did it
ever make it to pilot stage?

Stay-at-home dads are still pretty rare.

We have seen a decline in the number of families with stay-at-home moms. But many are being replaced by dual income families:

And that's not even getting into absenteeism. Sadly, the increase in stay-at-home dads is easily offset by the rise in absentee fathers.

The show concept isn't dated. It's wishful thinking.

Have you wandered into a kid's playground recently? There are fathers caring for their children everywhere - gay dads, stay-at-home dads, part-time dads, divorced dads with custody... The premise that relies on the presumption that men are somehow less suited, less capable or less equipped to look after children, and there really can't be too many people left who would buy that. It's a classic example of TV execs being monstrously and offensively out of touch with reality.

After watching the pilot your interpretation of the premise seems to be off.

Tired and dated? What?!

A sitcom about a clueless husband/dad with smart-ass kids and a criticizing, overbearing wife? That's never been done before!

I find it especially entertaining when they play the laugh track after every sentence that any character says.

I tried to watch Matt LeBlanc on "Episodes," but I couldn't tell if it was funny, because it didn't have a laugh track.
