The show did tributes to former creators.

Here is a link to a list of staff and cast of the previous Duck Tales show:

And some of them could be mentioned aloud or their names glimpsed on a list of people.

But the first Duke Tales show was a result of the popularity of earlier duck cartoons and comic books.

So it would be nice to see a street sign saying D'Isney Drive, for example.

And maybe street signs showing the intersection of Carl St. and Barks Avenue, and have the Ducks pass through a place called Donrosa in some foreign country.

Well, now there is a reference to Carl Barks. In "The Shadow War" Gyro Gearloose makes Donald Duck swallow a "Barksian modulator", which gives Donald a different and quite understandable voice. This is a reference the the fact that Donald Duck speaks with a hard to understand "Donald Duke" voice in cartoons, which his comic book self speaks quite clearly in the voice balloons of comic book artists like Carl Barks.
