Unrelenting PC take on history

Is anyone else bored OR annoyed by the incessant PC revisionist take on history?
1) Lone Ranger was actually black; well I was ok with that, even though it was not historically factual, until the pilot referred to the Lone Ranger as a "white dick". That was uncalled for.
2) The math wizard black lady in NASA; at least they handled that reasonably well. It was the pilot's knowledge of software hacking, her knowledge of the system that saved the day. True PC approach would have been for her to have saved the day all by herself, undoing a software virus she knew nothing about
3) Josephine Baker/Ernest Hemingway. Ernest is a "Jerk"; Josephine is an incredible hero who history has not recognized for her contribution.

It just goes on and on, women and "people of color" are the ones who did anything of value in history, white men ("old white men") are worthless scum that should be pushed aside. Well, maybe that is the truth. Maybe white men should just realize how truly evil and vile they are and walk out into a desert somewhere and die, leaving all the truly deserving people to remake the world as it should be

Yeah man, just dump this failing show. It will likely be cancelled anyway.

The unexamined life is not worth living -- Plato, attributed to Socrates

"Official" history is full of junk. For example, they tell us that people in Columbus's time thought the Earth was flat. In reality, advanced education in Columbus's day was based on Aristotle, and Aristotle had deduced that the Earth was round. So why did so many of Columbus's contemporaries oppose his plan? Because they thought Asia could not be reached by ocean using the technology in 1492, and they were right. Columbus never reached Asia.

Where did the "Earth was flat" history come from? A children's story by Washington Irving.

How did you draw this conclusion? It's another general assumption which is the heart of the problem. The show identifies many individuals of great historical importance. Women and "people of color" stand out because they are forgotten, unsung or uncommon heroes. I think you're reading way too much into it. Many "old white men" are identified for their contributions in this series. Maybe they don't stand out to you but I see them.

I will offer this one point in support of your view. The women & "people of color" they portray as historical heroes are presented as flawless where the others (most atleast) have their weaknesses revealed. That doesnt make them less important to me. I find it informative and I wish they would show that side of all of the historical figures.

I don't remember any such remark. Sounds like you are paranoid.

Nobody even said that---that's just your ridiculous,close-minded take on it. The show is just a reminder that white men didn't not do everything important in history, that's all. I don't know why the hell you even have a problem with that, because it's the truth. Get over yourself, and quit whining whenever the white male hegemony on everything is challenged.
