No, no. It’s more like....
Cable = John Connor
Deadpool = The Terminator
Firefist = T-1000
The roles should be reversed, shouldn’t they? Not according to DP. :) Either way, a badass frequent time traveler like Cable has definitely been involved in similar storylines for years.

The main plot definitely is almost a carbon copy of Looper. While it might be plausible because of Cable's time travels from comics, the writers should have avoided making a similar plot of such a recent movie. We all know the story is just an excuse for this kind of movie.
Of course there's also a Terminator vibe, but it's nothing compared with Looper's. Also the gifted fat kid as the "son" reminded me of Zoolander 2.
