So based on there being a plausible explanation for everything in the final episode, was this pregnancy cult just a red herring? It seemed awfully elaborate and sinister not to have anything to do with anything.

Also, remember that guy Dan that Dory met at the cult? He said he had a vision of Dory "standing in a room and everyone is staring at you and they're all *gasp*". Clearly he was referring to Keith's death, so I have to think the cult will figure in season 2.
