Shouldn't have to come to IMDB to know it's a comedy

I certainly couldn't tell from the first episode. Was looking forward to it. Very disappointed.

Satire/irony or dark comedy just aren't everybody's cup of tea. It's not meant to be ha-ha, laugh-out-loud funny.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

But the ending was totally unsurprising, though!

It was made clear to us early on that Chantal wasn't missing or in any kind of danger. The whole thing was a grab for attention.

If anything, I think going for something entirely different would have felt inorganic in the context of the show.

Let me save you the trouble. If you see Michael Showalter involved in any way, it's going to be a comedy. It's not gag or slapstick or pratfall comedy, but it will be on the comedy side of the storytelling spectrum.

Dark comedies make you release laughs from your bones, not your mouth.

Well, all that tell us if that you have a very underdeveloped sense of humour.
No, this was not your usual sitcom (which usually employs canned laughter to persuade the viewer that an unfunny line is funny, though it rarely is), this was something far better. And I like the trend.

This isn't something you should brag about.
