The Movie Database/Alternate Board

https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/66789-24-legacy

Hi everyone, I found another website called The Movie Database (easily confused with IMDb). Like IMDb they have discussion boards for individual films, TV shows, actors, etc. They seem to have just opened up these discussion boards because most of them don't have many discussions going on. With IMDb sadly closing down its boards hopefully we can move our discussions over there. I posted a link above.

That site sucks, sorry

reply

Yeah. I had to check it out. I had some hope for it but leaving any single conversation in a discussion brings you right back to the main page for that tv show or movie and you have to scroll back down the page to enter back into discussions. The navigating gymnastics for the discussions are poorly thought out. That layout will not be successful. Shame because it did appear they had a lot of connected data you could click through on their site.

reply

Yea, I'm not willing to work that hard. I probably won't use this site that much when the board is gone, I'm not sure they know how much this will affect traffic on their site or maybe they don't care

reply

Agreed. It was a poor decision. The board is just as important as the database.

I'm not experiencing that problem now.  (YMMV)

The admin, Travis Bell, has been working throughout the week on some of the requested improvements. Some of the new users, myself included, have been in daily communication with him via the support boards at:

The database on that site, while substantial, is NOT a patch on IMDb's; not by a long shot.  So at least in that sense, current relative overall data quality/completeness, I admit, it probably "sucks" relatively.

But at least it is there.
Where else are we going to find a fairly large database
with open boards for every movie, show, and person in it?
Where will we find that?
Not here at IMDb after February 19th.  
