Laugh track ....

They still use laugh tracks? Strange.

I never liked laugh tracks. I always found them personally insulting. The truth, as I have learned, is that it's effective. Not everyone gets every joke, or even gets that a joke IS a joke. The laugh track is a way of letting those people know someone is not serious, or that they are not to be taken seriously, either because of their character, or because they are a bigoted idiot, like some commenters in this board (present company excluded, of course).

It is a fact of life that not everyone is gifted with wit or intelligence. It is not insulting to say so, and should not be taken so.

What if I were to tell you that the laughter isn't canned and the show was shot in front of a live studio audience?

This would be a much better show if they'd simply lose the canned, generic, out-of-touch laugh track. I'd enjoy this much better without it ....
