Brits: thought on the 12A rating?

As I wrote in my review of the BBFC in 2016: http://zummer.blogspot.co.uk/2017/01/the-oscars-and-razzies-for-bbfc-2016.html, I thought 12A was an overreaction. I thought it could easily have been contained at PG. The 'boob-groping' that made it a 12A was humorous rather than dirty.

What do you guys think?

In my country, the Philippines, the rating label for this film was Rated: GP (General Patronage or suitable for all ages) when it was shown here last month. The breast grouping scene there was too short & mild, and also a breast scene there was covered by a white light.

Heyyyyyyyyy! Yeah, it was dumb. Shouldn't expect much else, but there was definitely nothing erotic about any of it, and animated imagery shouldn't be enough to earn it that rating. I guess the bit where she slaps him for touching her boobs or whatever it was maybe muddies the waters a little, but 12A is still definitely extreme.

Haha, I know! I saw it in cinema last week and I thought what the objectionate content would be. Was it the character touching their boobs? As there was certainly nothing else I could think of anything else. Well, this is the BBFC justification, which I found a bit ridiculous. My neighbour Totoro features more content thank this... Certainly an overreaction.

LANGUAGE
There is infrequent moderate bad language (eg 'dick').

SEX
In several scenes a male character who has woken up in a female character's body reacts by feeling her breasts. Other infrequent visual sex references include a brief close up shot of a character's chest as she plays basketball.

Other issues include sequences of mild threat as characters attempt to evacuate a town before it is destroyed by a meteor. These sequences are not overly intense or sustained.

In the beginning there was nothing, and it exploded.

PG sounds reasonable to me. I was in a cinema where I'm pretty certain there were kids younger than 12. But there is a little more in this film than some boob fondling and it had typical manga schoolgirl imagery that does give a parent pause for thought.
