They screwed up the marketing for this show
With this title and description, it sounds like yet another catch the serial killer type of show that we've seen so much before. But it's much more. It's (1) a more or less faithful period piece, (2) includes interviews with historical serial killers, (3) shows how the FBI learned and developed their understanding of the serial killer mentality, (4) includes stories of the personal lives of the main characters. None of that was apparent from the outside and I only started watching it because it was strongly recommended by a friend. If they ever bring this show back, they should really address these problems because I believe there's potential for a much larger audience than they actually got.
