Too many dangling threads

I just finished S2 and enjoyed the show but it had an annoying habit of setting up story arcs then immediately aborting them.

Holden seemingly absorbing traits from the killers he interviewed and showing signs of sociopathy, with Bill increasingly concerned, had me eagerly awaiting Season 2. It was completely forgotten.

Same with the panic attacks. This was a major character weakness that was set up but never paid off. I was hoping he’d fall apart during an interview or while on the case.

Wendy’s cat. She’s leaving tuna out for this thing, one days it’s all ants. I guess the cat died? What was the point of this?

Brian. So is the kid a budding serial killer or what? This was a compelling idea (although clashed with Holden possibly being sociopathic) but was left unexplored.

I hope they make a Season 3 but it’s hard to get too excited when their track record is to have great ideas then shit-can them ASAP.
