I like my movies simple so I can escape the complexity of life.

This was a very good movie, but not a good form of entertainment. I enjoyed it a lot. But I don't see the reason to make a movie so multi-layered that no one can interpret it correctly. I read all the theories on this page and on a few other sites. Is this what the writer/director was trying to accomplish? To stir debate and discussion to make the movie interesting to the fans?

A small audience appreciates such good movies as this. They just tend to disappear in the mix. If you wanna get your movie out there, and really get people talking, clear up your story. Bring a conclusion to the story. More people would appreciate that over this style.

This is very common in Asian cinema, particularly in Korean one. Western movies use to be much more easy to understand, even in directors that make convoluted movies (Nolan).

And The Wailing is not the most convoluted movie you can find. I've seen movies where you had no idea what was happening until the second half of the movie.
