Question about the zombie from the car
So if the japanese man was the devil, why was he so startled about the zombie from the car (running down to the car to see if he is still there) hiding from it. Was he not the one who "made" it?

shareI don't think the Jap/Demon created the zombie. The shaman did, by accident. Remember, the shaman told the policeman that the ritual would backfire if everyone did not fully commit to it. The policeman stopped the ritual early and so, instead of killing the Demon, the ritual "unkilled" the dead guy in the truck.
The Demon might still have played a part in creating the zombie. He most likely understood how the shaman's ritual worked, and what could happen if it failed, so the candles and stuff that he set up around the dead guy's body might have been his way of making the body a sort of lightning rod to draw the ritual's power away from himself.
However, the Demon's startled fear still doesn't make sense, no matter who created the zombie. It's there to support the double plot twist at the end, but it's inconsistent with the Demon's character at the end of the film.
The Shaman and Stranger were working together. The The Woman of No-name created the zombie which was going to attack the Japanese man but ran into Jong-Goo and his friends instead.

In my opinion the Japanese man was not the devil. Rather he was possessed by the devil, but then, following the shaman's exorcism, the devil was driven out of him. The Japanese man created the zombie while he was possessed, but later, after he came to himself, he realized to his horror what he had done, and ran to the car to confirm his suspicions.
