Order to watch - episode 2, episode 1

When they reveal a pretty big thing for at the end of episode 1, then you go into the episode 2, and it's a prequel.

That can be disappointing, when one is looking forward to some vampire action.

Also, it makes you wonder if you're watching in the right order.

I recommend 2, and then 1.

I agree. Last night I wasn't really paying attention when the first episode was on, then settled down and watched the second. Rewatched the first again now and am glad I had seen the second ep beforehand, got more out of the first.

even though i enjoyed both eps, i agree that the prequel was mostly unnecessary. they explained what happened (in the events of the prequel) pretty well in the first episode. no need to rehash it/show everything we'd already learned in ep.1.

I ended up watching 1-2-1 but in all honesty I felt like I was watching two slightly different versions of the pilot.

Episode two wasn’t a prequel, they simply aired them in the wrong order, and that was a big detriment to the show.

Having watched what was clearly meant to be episode two first, I thought that the vampires were created due to a virus or something spewed by the volcano. Then the second episode, which was obviously supposed to be first, made it clear that vampires already existed and the ash cloud from the volcano merely made it possible for them to come out.

This out-of-order airing not only really messed up the story-line, it also also set up for disappointment because the virus slant was interesting; the ash-cloud cover was dull and made it look more like Strain.
