Why air out of chronological order?Spoilers

For the purposes of this thread I'm referring to the first two episodes that Syfy aired on 9/23/2016.Not the preview teaser episode that aired back in July 2016.

Why would Syfy air the first two episodes of the television series("Help Me","Seen You") out of order? The episode," Help Me " was originally aired a few months ago as a teaser preview episode. That episode takes place after the vampire apocalpse. It was likely aired first to get people hooked. So when Syfy starts the actual regular season ,why wouldn't they begin the series from the beginning by airing the episode, "Seen You",which starts before the vampire apocalypse?

Syfy already wetted people's appetite by airing an episode showcasing the villains first as a teaser. It would have made sense that they begin the season by airing the episodes in chronological order. Maybe I'm too slow to understand TV marketing?Airing the first two episodes out of order went completely over my head.Your thoughts?

That's just my two cents.

Help Me was mostly crap. Seen You was half-way decent.

Why did you think they are out of order? Creatively, Help Me should be the first episode, followed by the flashback episode Seen Me.

If you paid attention to both episodes the second episode that aired ,Save Me was not written as a flashback. It even had different opening credits. It could have even been the actual series pilot episode that establishes it's premise. Both episodes depicted events that occured out of the actual order in which they occur. In my opinion they transposed airing of the first two episodes.

Don't get me wrong I can understand why they would use the second episode as the teaser in July because it has more action with the villains. But airing the first two episodes out of order made following the series confusing.
That's just my two cents.

I agree completely. The second episode was not a flashback, it was just aired in the wrong order.

Worse, it made things very confusing too because having seen the second one first, it made it seem like the vampires were created by a virus spewed from the volcano. Then seeing the first episode second mixed that up because it made it clear (late) that the volcano merely made an ash-cloud that blocked out the sun and let already-existing vampires roam around.

I was actually interested when I saw that first episode because the volcano-virus slant was somewhat novel, but then the vampire cult and ash-cloud thing made it dull and too much like Strain.
