I dunno but I kinda get the TWD vibe with this show, especially now with them on the run and are now hold up in a military base, reminds me of seasons 2 and 3 of TWD with the prison... and is Axel now the new Rick?

That's the same impression I had when they got to the military post. The whole thing looked familiar. Not so creative writers on this show.

bosscain, i'd say Vanessa is this show's Daryl (or sorts). the way she fought/killed the numerous vamps in the recent ep.9 makes me think she's either a Daryl or Shane (before he went bonkers).

Of course! It's like some exec at the SyFY network decided "We need to cash in on The Walking Dead. Gimme THREE shows like it. One of 'em is bound to click!" So now they have Z Nation, Aftermath, and Van Helsing.

M'eh. Simplistic analysis. If anything SyFy have made too great a commitment to post apocalyptic series with female leads. Other than that the 3 shows you mention are very, very different.

Yeah, you're right. A band of people on the road during an apocalyptic event, seeking sanctuary when and where they can, and battling both "monsters" and human predators. Nothing at all like The Walking Dead! Pure coincidence that they all follow in the wake of the most popular series on television.
