The doc

Why did she close the door on axel? Really beginning to hate her character

reply

Because she fulfilled her cowardly ways that she confessed to Axel moments before.

Yea, I didn't get that scene at all. First, no real reason to leave him behind to look for dumbass. Second, no reason Doc should have closed that door. This entire scene waso not just bad but completely illogical vs Axel and his primary mission. Also, common sense tells us that the person who is IMMUNE to both radiation and vampire bites who can also TURN people back into humans should have been down there. Totallyou stupid and it's a jump the shark moment for the show.

To be honest, what puzzles me is that some viewers managed to like the Doc to begin with.
Doc is not only a coward, she is also a selfish person and all she cares about is her own safety, and that's how she has always been.
Remember when Vanessa had left the hospital, Doc didn't want Axel to go after her. Why ? To keep him close, to make sure someone was left to protect her.
Same thing happened at the Farm. Not only did Doc close the door on Axel's face but she lied to Vanessa, to prevent her from going back to help him. She kept Vanessa by her side, to make sure she would make it to the car...
Somehow, I can forgive the coward part, but not the selfish one.

Jeez... what will be left of our group by the end of the season ?

reply

Why wait until he is right at the door and then close it? She could have walked away ten minutes before.
They aren't killing Axel I hope?!

Is the Doc the serial killer? They keep hinting at it but never confirming. She is a coward for sure but that doesn't mean she is a serial killer. Maybe all the vamps turned human are having issues. The guy with the glasses was discovered near the first kill. The deaf guy brought the bag with the finger in it (Could have added it, but I hope not I really like him.), the doc was at the autopsy for the first body and was the first to point it out. Lastly Vanessa's friend/roomate/make out buddy is kind of sketchy.

reply

I completely agree here. The writers are incompetent. A person like the doc that is such a huge coward would not have even offered to look for a guy she met two days before all by herself, and then turn around and shut the door on Axel. You can't make her brave as hell one moment and a cowardly spineless flesh bag the next.

reply

She wanted to look for him to make up for and overcome her cowardice yet when placed back in the situation she failed to do so. The guilt of doing it a second time was so great that she sought to be turned again because the vampires don't feel guilt.

It's exactly the response to expect from a coward who doesn't want to live with the guilt, cannot redeem themselves yet is still afraid to die and actually is some of the better thought out writing in the show.

reply

She hates being human.

No kidding. I begin to understand everyone wants to be a vampire in apocalypse just like everyone wants to be white in America.

reply

I think Vanessa shunning the doc after her confession is what drove the doc to want to go back to being a vampire. Doc no longer feels she deserves to be human.
