I just binged some BSG, and was wondering how a network that produced that show and the Stargate series could make this crapfest? Those shows had stories, pruduction values...budgets. WTF SyFy?
sharePeople are always singing the praises of BSG and I just don't know why. I've tried a few times to watch it and it's just mostly boring.

I loved BSG but it cancelled because it cost too much versus how many people watched it (or didn't). SyFy makes its money now from Sharknado and Z Nation so their core audience is willing to watch lower quality shows with simpler execution.
Having said that I think Van Helsing is better than average, certainly better quality and story telling than Wynona Earp or Aftermath.
I understand that quality costs, in some cases, but that's the game. The Brits make some good shows centered around writing and not flashing lights. Humans, Dr. Who and that rip in space time show that I can't remember the name of right now.
Aftermath started out really bad, but lately is watchable, like this show... nothing else is on so.... I just don't think that should be a "science fiction" channel's mantra.
