No connection to anything remotely "Van Helsing" like... attempting to be TWD with "vampire-like" beings and fails miserably in all aspects.
Give it a wide berth, it won't last long.
You can call me Rusty Brain because I have to get up to speed on what millennials do.I no longer have to waste my time with bad TV.I have a Netflix account and I need to use it.So instead of watching this show I'm going to start watching all the Netflix original Marvel series; Jessica Jones is first than Luke Cage ,Daredevil,etc.

Comic book conversions are hardly what I would call "good" TV...
Give JJ a miss... DD S1 is ok as is Luke Cage for the slightly different slant of a "superhero", but all the cliche storylines are in abundance.
Gotham would have to be the best of the "comic book" TV series.
Narcos, The Knick, and newer series Westworld, Quarry are more worthy of the mature viewer.
+1 for Westworld and Narcos haven't seen the other two yet

Cant tell if serious or sarcastic but Neon Joe is definitely better. I dont know these "most people". Nobody that I have talked to liked JJ but I definitely see the love that it gets here on IMDB.
It wasnt a knock on your taste of show, more of a badly worded question as to, "what do you see in JJ that makes it good to you?"
One of the best shows on TV in the past decade. Apart from 2 weaker episodes it was amazing! Gritty, realistic, mature, Jessica wasn't some overpowered superhero who is immortal, she was mortal and vulnerable.
Just not for the "cheap thrills" crows who want instant gratification and meaningless action scenes all the time.
I love all the shows on Netflix. You can tell they were made in Vancouver because of all of the Stargate actors. Just take them for what they are. Entertainment! They are not Shakespeare people so don't be so damn critical!

The second episode seemed a big improvement but 3 out of 4 were boring. Shows sometimes need little room to get their footing but I don't think this show will.

shareI can't honestly say I disagree with you, Elmer. I loved the two-hour series premiere. But, the three episodes that followed were so heavy with soap opera elements, I was starting to hope the Phantom Cannibal would kill _both_ groups of survivors (Axel included)!
But, Episode 6 has temporarily restored my faith in this series. Said faith will no longer be so blind, though. Merely myopic, at best.
This show is just so bad. I really can't find one character that I really like, maybe the deaf fellow but they will probably ruin him too. I really think it could have been written better. It's almost like in order to make the characters seem more real, they over did their flaws and I found myself disliking just about all of them.
