Why call it Van Helsing if he isn't even the main protagonist?

Call it Vanessa Helsing and no one would watch. Women seriously need to *beep* off ruining films and TV shows that could have been amazing but they would have felt left out and cried sexism if we didn't make them the star.

When will it end...

Its revealed in the last episode she is the descendent of the Van Helsing family ... hidden away by her mother

Or just watch the trailer or look at the poster it's quite obvious the main protagonist is a woman.

Season 2 confirmed - if you don't like it, don't watch it.
