I finally learned why Discovery is so different from Original Canon!

In short: The people making the show haven't got the rights to the original Shows from Star Trek, over TNG to Enterprise.
They have do make it look and feel different because of a licensing deal - but that was never openly admitted, to get all the old Trekkies and Fans onboard.
That is why it is more optical inline with the recent movies than with the old beloved shows.
At least there is a silver lining for Original Canon Shows - if the companies holding the different licenses (old canon / new prime canon) merge again.
Let's hope so in sake of the New Picard Show.
I don't want a "25% different to TNG" Picard Show ;)
