Did you stand and applaud at the end?

I watch films several times every week, but this is the first time several audience members have stood to applaud a film at the end. Did you witness the same? Did you stand and applaud?

reply

What? You mean you can afford to visit the cinema several times a week ? No one but the bourgeoise can do this . Be very careful comrade because come the revolution only Jeremy Corbyn and Ken Loach are allowed amnesty

reply

Or perhaps they work/volunteer at a cinema, as do I, thus making seeing films several times a week a requirement.

reply

Dont worry, I always sneak in the open door at the back.

reply

Or maybe with a subscription as I have?

reply

I go to the cinema twice a week, on average. Cineworld Unlimited makes that possible.

Why are you here if you haven't seen the movie yet?

reply

thats what I have as well.

reply

Nobody, including myself, did that at the screening I was at yesterday.

reply

I didnt either, but its strange when it happens.

reply

I do remember THE KINGS SPEECH had some audience applaud . My sister watched RETURN OF THE KING at the cinema and saw some audience members applaud .

It's not unknown but very rare . Most people just head for the exits when the titles come up

reply

Here in Spain it happened yesterday when I went to watch it. I was quite surprised because it's really uncommon nowadays.

reply

I laughed out loud at several points in the film, and was not alone.

This hard-left Islington nonsense is completely devolved from the experience I have had in claiming ESA and also an assessment.

Delusional, and I would imagine, quite insulting to job centre staff. I've never experienced anything close to what was portrayed on the screen.

reply

You seem to be in nearly every thread, talking about laughter in the screening you went to. As no one else seems to have experienced this I imagine that YOU were the only one laughing. I feel sorry for the other cinema-goers having you in the audience with them!

reply

No, but I did go out and buy a load of stuff to donate to my local food bank. Thought provoking stuff that should be seen by everyone.

reply

The food-bank scene made me go out and by several packets of sanitary towels - so the film made a slight difference to the donation trolley parked at the end of the tills at my local supermarket.

While I didn't stand I did applaud, others at the screening joined in.
