So Far Only Two Episodes Have Aired
As of today only two episodes have actually aired of this program. If CNN wants to move in the direction of producing and showing original content, this is not the way to do it.

shareWhy do they keep postponing the episodes?
shareI guess because stuff keeps happening. First it was the Democratic Debate last week and now this past week they had the coverage of Prince's death. Now, for some reason they aren't even showing the episodes on the other days. Perhaps they are going to save them for some premiere date in May.
shareYeah, I tuned in again only to find out that they were covering Prince's death, so now it looks like we will have to wait until May before they decide to air the third episode.
Honestly, they should just put it on their website and attach a bunch of adverts. I don't see any reason why they need to keep preempting the show.
The problem is that CNN is still a news network, so if actual news happens, like they get to host a debate or something big happens, like the death of a major figure/celebrity (Prince) they are going to preempt regular programming. It's a problem because their documentaries are fantastic. Maybe they will show the epsiodes that were skipped during the time slot in later weeks. Since the episodes are not chronological, they could be shown in any order and still make sense.

Exactly. I can't find out when the ones that didn't air will be shown.
I guess after the end of the these last few they will all be shown again. Maybe one after another some Saturday or Sunday.
The other two series, the 60's and 70's, often had a mini-marathon of the last 2-3 episodes on the following Saturday. They seem for some unknown reason to have done away with that practice and instead show episodes of their other shows.
Wouldn't you know it. I forgot it was on until halfway into the repeat at 11 pm CST.
I'm trying to save these to my DVR and it hasn't been easy. CNN pulled the same crap two years ago when they ran the Sixties series...every week was more useless babbling about the plane that was never found. It went on for weeks. CNN was the Crash News Network, 24/7. Drove me nuts and pissed me off.
And then U-Verse upgraded my DVR and I ended up losing the whole series anyway. I snoozed...so I lose.
Got the whole Seventies series, though, when it was re-broadcast last year. It's excellent. So I was looking forward to seeing The Eighties this spring.
I was able to save the first episode, on March 31st. CNN ran GOP B.S. on April 7th and 14th, so no episodes appeared on Thursdays during those weeks.
Then, last week (on the 21st), I had to delete the recording from the DVR because it ended up being news coverage of Prince's death. At least this week, they did air another episode...the one that should have run last week (Episode 4). Next week, they will show the episode that should have been on this week.
I guess they will be airing mini-marathons on the weekend of May 7th and 8th, and finish up with three more episodes on the Thursdays after that (May 12th, 19th, and 26th). It's been a complete mess, and very frustrating.
They should just run them on Sunday nights and be done with it. The goddam news can wait an hour...their "breaking news" reports are often a royal pain in the ass.

So, they DID show the third (whatever its real number is) episode today ?

There's nothing scheduled to run this weekend. But the episode about technology is scheduled for airing on the 5th and 6th.
The Reagan episode is supposed to be re-broadcast on the weekend of the 7th and 8th. And the episode about Wall Street greed is scheduled for the 12th and 13th.
I have no idea what order they were originally meant to be shown in. I think the Reagan one was Episode Two.
Reagan was supposed to be seen on April 7th. I was out of town and my DVR never recorded it, because it was pre-empted by political nonsense. The same thing happened on the 14th. And the following week, the prince known as Prince went and died, so it has been a trifecta of Thursday postponements this month. Back to back to back. And there have been weekend ones, as well.
This current schedule is what U-Verse is now saying...of course, CNN may have other ideas and just scrap everything if there's another mass shooting, or if some rapper dies, or if Trump gets even more crazy, or if Hillary stubs her toe, or if Cruz trips over a crucifix and breaks his schnozz. And especially if a drone comes within twenty feet of a passenger plane.
So I have scheduled some of the episodes to be recorded two or three times. With CNN, you never know.
