I thought it was all right
There was a definite sense of adventure here - as we visit Somalia and get to witness the western journalist-wannabe try to get a big break in a region which not many others were willing to visit.
The acting was decent, the camera work was all right. While the stories were a bit different, I always had the sense that this film was somehow similar to 'the last king of scottland', though the 'last king of scottland' did have a lot more tension throughout the film, and superior acting from Forest Whittaker. Perhaps the main similarity was in the fact that you see the experiences of a white dude in a black country with plenty of dangerous men all around? Anyways, while 'the last king of scottland' was awesome, I think this film held its own and is well worth seeing.
If nothing else, it ends on a much more positive note - and encourages people to see nations in Africa in a different light than what we are used to.
