Legion is probably the best mindfuck TV show right now

I'm not a big superhero film person either (can't say I've seen "capeshit" used anywhere else before, lol, kudos) so it's always a little bit of effort on my part to get into any of that stuff. That said, this show is right up my alley. I do not think of it in the same vein as all of that stuff because, well, it's just not from my perspective.

There are mutants and powers and high stakes and all that sure, but that stuff is used to drive the story forward in a lot of interesting ways that are about other things as well. They don't seem to use that as a crutch really, I guess is what I'm saying. It's not, "oh these people have powers let's have them blow stuff up for an hour." The thoughtfulness put into what a life and mind would be like with that, the psychology, and the sheer audacity of weirdness this show has is what makes the show worthwhile. Once you view it like that, the powers are almost...I wouldn't say incidental....but they're a plot device really, to push deeper themes.

I find all those movies and shows very bland. And I'm not particularly entertained by them either (the ones I've seen). I feel that, because they're building this extended universe and everything has to be connected, they can't take many risks and go all out.

I was a bit apprehensive about checking this out, because of that reason (though the X-men movies are the only series of this type that I've liked for the most part and stuck around for).
But I'm glad I did. It fits with my tastes perfectly.

I couldn't agree more. I'm not a big Marvel or cape movie fan, but I LOVE this!

I'm mid episode 2 and love it so much already. Great acting and story and visuals.

I've become bored with superhero movies/TV shows because of the same tired formula done to death. Bad guy does something bad and the hero(es) stop him after a fight. So predictable.

This show breaks the mold. This is what creativity and originality looks like.

IMDB seems to believe that only a few posters cared about the message boards. I'm sure plenty of people were interested in reading the boards for opinions or answers without actually posting anything.

I'm with you. I'll watch superhero movies sometimes and yeah they can be fine. But typically it's not my taste and I'm not nerdy about them like a lot of people are. The superhero or 'capeshit' thing was a reason I was apprehensive to watch this one.

Also, mostly wanted to say I love and agree with your PS lol. I used to frequent over there, now check it much less, just for the industry news. Hoping these boards will pick up more in time, but at least there's also less in the way of trolls here.
