Barely watchable??

Anybody else felt this was way too absurd and allegorical to be taken seriously? Lawrence's character is a perpetual victim, the rest of the characters are grotesquely distant to their surroundings, and the story is a constant series of unfortunate events. Could only get halfway through before calling it a day.

I thought it was a good movie. However, it's a lot to absorb. The average horrorfan might not have the patience for it. I described it as a rollercoaster ride getting destroyed by a tornado in another thread in here. Although, this might be a slight exaggeration, it's mostly the final hour that gets pretty crazy. You should watch the last 60 minutes or so...

That being said, I really liked it. It definitely falls into that new genre called 'post-horror'. It doesn't rely on jump-scares for cheap thrills. It's more psychological thriller than blood and guts horror.

I wonder why people delete their anonymous names? Anyway I thought this movie was eminently watchable.
