I think it’s interesting that you think the god character represents the devil. God in much of the Bible is really oblivious, angry and obsessed with creation. A lot like Dr. Frankenstein who in a frenzy created life and then abandoned it when he realized how ugly it was and what he’d unleashed upon the world. In the Bible the devil’s great crime was challenging God, not cruelty to man. The whole movie is based on the Bible’s tale of god, man and Mother Earth.
