Hold up of convenience store.

There was a hold up (season 1) of a convenience store. A guy comes in while the robbery is in progress and tells the guy not to carry on with it, as he has not killed anyone yet. Then he shoots the guy and it looks like he was going to die, but then they show him floating on his back in a lake. What was that about?

That was the priest fellow who does the Sunday morning gatherings on the lake where everyone is on the boats. I think the fact that he was shot point blank in the chest, and lived, pushed him into finding the lord and spreading the word.
