Is this movie scary or political?

I've avoided this film so-far, because from what I've heard, it has an overt "message".

I hate it when horror movies have messages, whether political or religious or spiritual or feel-good or feel-bad about humanity or whatever. Horror movies are supposed to be frightening. They are not supposed to be teaching society a lesson.

So, in your opinion, is this movie scary, or is it political?

To me, itโ€™s more of a political dramady. Not a horror in the least. Some tense moments, some hilarious. But there is a heavy sociopolitical undercurrent.

It's sort of both. It's an excellent horror movie with some keen social satire throw in. I enjoyed it immensely.
You should see it imho.

It's a comedy of manners rather than being political... Only pussies find it offensive and only political zealots see it as politically important... It might have been considered as such in the 1950 or early 1960 before segregation was done away with, but it's a 2017 movie...

Look Who's Coming Home For Dinner was more transgressive...

It's a fun movie and very enjoyable if you don't things too seriously... A lot of intentionally cringe-worthy awkward moments, some suspense and some creepy moments... A lot of comedy as well... A lot.

It's a horro-comedy more than anything else...
