Does Banks think if she complains enough people will like the movie?
??
shareFor me, all this hoopla has gotten me interested in watching the original CA. I have season 1 on disc, loved it, gonna revisit old memories. Not interested in the new movie, though.
shareNo, it's just a win-win situation. It's all about the top down agenda. I'm not even sure that they care about making money anymore; not with all films, at least. If it does well, they get to say, "See!? Everyone agrees with us!" If it doesn't do well, they get to say, "See!? It's those misogynistic incels that killed us at the box office. Told you so! Told you THEY were out to get US!"
I'm still uncertain as to whether it's a top down political/social agenda in it's entirety, with the money of it all being mostly irrelevant, or if it's just a sort of fail-safe win-win set up for STRONG WOMAN when her shitty film produces shitty numbers. Either way, it's bullshit just to spread a certain idea. The reason for the spread is, somewhat, still up for debate.
I wonder the same thing. Surely by now they have had enough flops of these sorts of films to know what really pisses people off. So is it like a political/war strategy where you just keep making the propaganda anyway, kind of like the term "Throw enough shit and some of it will stick" where they get to slowly brainwash people and write off the losses as the price of waging war?
It still amazes me how these strong women can cry and pass blame so easily. Then again their hero Hilary is great at that so what do you expect.

Yeah, I fear that this may very well be the case. Why else would they continue to knowingly lose money?
With good writing/storytelling obviously not being the main focus, the reasoning behind a forced, unnatural topic such as this has to be one of two things - (1) brainwashing or (2) giving the people what they want, regardless of any realities. Well, the money tells us that these strong woman/white man bad movies aren't exactly giving the people what they want, more times than not. So, what does that leave?
An interesting article on Woke films failing https://society-reviews.com/2018/11/23/huffington-post-cant-figure-out-why-audiences-arent-spending-money-on-woke-films/
I think another reason could be that the people who make/write these films are very out of touch. They work in an environment where everyone is just like them and if they aren't you just abuse and hound them until they shut up or leave.
They don't make many Westerns anymore and when they do they are so bad and sometimes "woke" that they are unwatchable. The reason they don't make many is they don't make much money yet I see they are already planning a female driven Fast and Furious film?! Hobbs & Shaw although maybe not an outright flop isn't delivering what it hoped it would either.
thats an article about another article pondering why a specific film is failing.
I just wasted 10 minutes figuring that out.
thanks.
oh boo hoo cry me a river. The subject of the article is in the title. I am surprised it only took you 10 minutes to work it out given you can't see why the article is relevant to this film.
shareI think we could coin a term here "Guilt Marketing" the hope that if you make the market feel guilty they will buy what you are selling to disprove your allegations.
Of course as we saw with Ghostbusters 2016 it fails yet they keep doing it.
I get the feeling more and more that people in Hollywood at any level don't really have a clue what the general public thinks or feels about anything.
shareJWA, guys, just walk away.
The studios are making it clear with all of these franchises . . . they don't like you, they wish you were gone.
So, why pay them, why buy their merch, why spend ANY of your money on ANYTHING they make?
JWA - Just Walk Away
She can't blame men for this movie doing poorly. Women didn't want to see it either. I went to see Frozen 2 last weekend and not a single person ahead of me bought a ticket for Charlie's Angels.
