are you glad this bombed?
yes - i hate remakes in general.
shareI wish that it starred Gina Carano, Jessie Graff, and Margot Robbie. Directed by Guy Ritchie or Pete Travis. And I wish that with these elements, it made millions. Wish it didn't bomb but instead happened like this.
As is, I don't really care about it.
Indifferent.
Some of the rhetoric before and after the movie's release blaming "men" or "geek culture" are getting to be predictable. I don't think they are good for the industry or popular culture.
My whole thing is, when doing market research to put up many millions of dollars for a film, how did they realize this was something to take that chance on? Who wanted it?
It really just goes to show how Hollywood is living in an echo chamber these days and how it has to end at some point.
As per pre-release I don't care one way or the other about this film's success (or lack thereof).
What I find a bit sad is all those jumping onboard the seeming bandwagon to slate it now. Honestly, it's kind of pathetic to see this hovering on the trending films here almost constantly since it's flop release.
Would rather even the chat about this just disappeared as quickly as the film. That's pretty much all this deserved. It wasn't wrecking anyone's treasured franchise or anything so you've kind of let yourself become consumed by bitterness if you're spending too much time getting overexcited about this particular one.
yes!
ordinarily i would care not one bit whether this harmless bit of fluff thrived or died. only one thing made me openly root for its failure, & that is the casting of kristen stewart.
i have nothing against her, & have actually found her to be quite good in certain women & personal shopper, but casting an out lesbian (or bisexual or whatever) in that role triggered me slightly. it struck me as such an annoying obvious 'let's subvert expectations (tm) by casting an androgynous, sexually ambigous woman in this role' hyper-woke stance. that kind of moral preening automatically shifts me into 'i hate that' mindsets.
I don´t care either way.
shareInitially, I didn't care. I had no plans to see it since Kristin Stewart is where charisma goes to die. But since the director decided to call men 'misogynists' if they didn't buy tickets to see her crap movie, I'm happy to see it at a 4.2 rating. Now if Star Wars fans would just wake-up and boycott Disney, the year will round-out nicely.
shareI wouldn’t have cared one way or another. After the reaction of crybaby Banks, I am happy it flopped.
